Fabricating Your Custom Wastewater Treatment System
Whether you currently have a wastewater system in place that needs upgrading or you need a new system, Evans Equipment has the ability to handle the job from the design phase, to construction, permitting, and service.
So, how do you know where to start in determining your wash system needs? Navigating government regulations can be a real pain, and that’s where we come in. Our expertise in wastewater treatment can guide your build to be environmentally compliant and effective, so you can stay focused on your job.
We can help you dial in the following setup requirements in order to manufacture the most effective wastewater treatment system for your business:
Water Quality Requirements
Understanding your facility’s water quality requirements is essential, and begins with how you can effectively and quickly remove contaminants. While a well-thought-out design focuses on filtration, the pre-separation process before the water enters the system is vitally important to optimal performance.
When pre-separation is included in the initial design, cleaner processed water will minimize maintenance costs providing longer filter life, fewer pump failures, reduced sediment build up in the coil of the pressure washer, and controlled chemical consumption (i.e., coagulants which separates the solids within the water) reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Water Demand
Before a filtration solution is selected, you must consider the flow rate your facility requires. For example, each pressure washer may consume 4-5 gallons per minute (GPM) and an analysis of your washing processes is critical to discern the volume of water currently moving through your facility to ensure the system is scaled to your unique needs.
Water Separation – Choosing Your Filtration Options
Wastewater treatment systems are very specific on what can be separated from a waste stream. A system designed for suspended solids may not remove emulsified oils or heavy metals efficiently. Conversely, a system that is designed to remove oil may not be able to filter heavy particulate.
One of the most common treatment methods is the use of biological compounds, such as microbes, to break down light-medium contamination. This treatment is primarily used when a company needs to remove:
- Grease
- Oils
- Drilling Mud
- Other Types of Hydrocarbons
- Organic Matter
- Other Light-Medium Viscous Contamination
This form of bio-treatment can effectively and rapidly degrade organic contaminates, and either discharge the remaining water or recycle for reuse through an industrial pressure washer. While this can get your water relatively clean (100-50 microns), sometimes you need to further decontaminate.
However, if you’re facing heavy contamination, your best option is utilizing a combination of filters. You can run the water through various filters in a series to handle:
- Clays
- Silts
- Flocs
- Oil and Grease
In many cases, you could even combine bio-remediation with filtration when you have organic contaminates and suspended solids. There are a number of solutions that can work together to make sure your setup is efficient, effective, and compliant with regulations.
With any of the treatment options we offer, you can either discharge the treated water through a sewer or other environmentally compliant location, install a system to evaporate excess water, or recycle the water, depending on the situation.
See Your Equipment Before It’s Made
Over time we have created component files for every single pump, every piece of pipe, and every system, so the customer not only sees the cost for the equipment, but they can also see what it’s going to look like.
We use 3D CAD Design software, Solid Works, for visual confirmation so that when we begin fabrication and construction, we’re ready to go.
Are You Ready for a Better Wastewater Treatment System?
