How long have you worked at Evans Equipment?

5 years

What does your previous work/school experience include? How many years?

After graduating college & before coming on with Evans, I worked for ITT-Goulds Pumps for 3 years as a Product Design Engineer.

What do your job duties entail?

As a Project Manager, I see to it that all aspects of the job, not only get completed but done as cost effective & time efficient as possible. The better I can accomplish both of those, the happier the customer is and the more margin yielded for the company. It’s a win-win!

What skill sets do you have that you apply to your work/to Evans Equipment?

My co-workers might say I am overfastidious, but I like to think I am decently good at multitasking and a stickler for following the plans/processes. It’s a routine.

As someone who works behind the scenes, what separates Evans Equipment from the rest in your field?

Evans outrivals its competition because of the 3-P’s. We have outstanding people, unsurpassed performance, & synergistic partnerships. We take pride in our work.

Are there any particular checklists, procedures, or carefully thought-out planning that goes into the work done at Evans?

More than most I would say; we have many checklists & procedures, and there are always copious amounts of planning going on every day for the work that we do.

What sets our team/department apart is how we handle the deviations and unknowns from what was planned. That’s when we perform at our best and show why we are second to none.

What would Evans customers be surprised to know about your services or how the team operates?

Without divulging classified secrets…I would think our customers would be surprised by how skinny we operate considering how well we complete each project.

We are talking about 60+ projects being managed & carried out by a very small team of very capable individuals. It’s impressive even coming from an insider.

Anything else you’d like to add?

Success is the sum of small efforts – repeated day in and day out.”

How long have you worked at Evans Equipment?

4 years

What does your previous work/school experience include?

I attended college for two years at LSU. I worked with a large veterinarian clinic in Atlanta, GA for seven years. I then started dispatching and was a dispatcher for plumbing, electrical, generators and A/C. I worked as a dispatcher for approximately 13 years. My relocation to Lafayette, LA led me to Evans Equipment and started here as a CSR and did some light accounting.

What do your job duties entail?

  • Wearer of many hats and tearer at a fast pace.
  • Project Management Coordinator – Create job numbers for our projects and input them into our system for further accounting functions. I generate the deposit invoice from our salesman’s estimates for our customers. I order specialized parts for the build of our equipment. Rent required equipment for job site installs across the United States. Also arrange travel for our installers and service technicians. Input job transfer sheets so that the proper job is billed and keep inventory correct.
  • Project Management – I currently manage two projects. I ensure that our customer is getting exactly what they ordered in the time frame promised. I am in contact with the locations to ensure that any prep work is complete on their end while confirming the fab and build are on schedule. I follow the project from PO to install. Ensuring a high level of communication with the customer and ensuring that fab and build stay on schedule.
  • In the function of Department 70,  produce dispatches for national service routes. Find a local vendor or 3rd party to dispatch to location and repair the equipment. Then process third party invoices for payment and invoice our customers for their services rendered. I submit a monthly spreadsheet of invoices to H&E for all their services agreements, consumables and repair of equipment.

What skill sets do you have that you apply to your work/to Evans Equipment?

First and foremost multi-tasking. Attention to detail is also at the top of the list. The ability to communicate a plan to a team of people, that encourages their input and participation.

As someone who works behind the scenes, what separates Evans Equipment from the rest in your field?

Evans’s secret sauce has to do with the communication and heightened level of attention to detail.

Are there any particular checklists, procedures, or carefully thought-out planning that goes into the work done at Evans?

Evans has spread sheets for everything! In some cases the spread sheet has a spreadsheet.

What’s something Evans customers would be surprised to know about your services or how the team operates?

Simply put, the scope of work that we do. From construction to fabrication, build, and install of our equipment. We have technicians that go out locally and nationally to service our equipment to keep setbacks at a minimum with five locations with warehouses that store the necessary parts and pieces needed for our specialized equipment.
